Liz Schaffer and Tom Bunning – Lodestars Anthology: the art of slow travel and global storytelling

Saturday, 23rd November 2019, 10am-12pm

We’re delighted to bring you ‘The Reading Room Series’ at the Swan, Southwold.

Using our authentic Reading Room with beautiful views over the market place, we are hosting a varied season of exciting visiting experts to talk about their inspirational lives.

Liz Schaffer and Tom Bunning of Lodestars Anthology will be here on Saturday, 23rd November at 10am.  Prepare to be whisked away in wonderful stories from around the world.

Liz Schaffer is a travel writer, photographer and the founding editor of Lodestars Anthology, a magazine-meets-journal that explores a single country every issue.  With a focus on slow travel, craft, history and the boutique, it is designed to capture a destination’s essence and remind readers of the wonders of travel.  Working with a range of talented contributors across the globe (be they writers, photographers or illustrators), Liz strives to seek beauty and foster talent.

Accompanying Liz is Tom, a British photographer specialising in advertising, landscape, portrait and automotive work.  Tom works all over the world.  He has a strong affinity for British heritage and the handmade and traditional, and enjoys shooting on location and bringing a sense of our cultural landscape to his work.  Tom’s current UK-based projects include ‘Crafted’ and ‘The Farmer’s Year’ - a celebration of British craft and a seasonal project documenting and working with selected farmers and growers across the organic agricultural industry.

Join us for morning refreshments from 10am, Liz and Tom will start their talk promptly at 10.30am, and we’ll have Q&A from 11.30am.  We expect the event to come to a close around midday.
